Un petit résumé de skate.

Crée en 1977, le groupe est constitué de Jim Peterik, Frankie Sullivan, Dave Bickler, Gary Smith, et Dennis Johnson. Le groupe conserve ces membres jusqu'en 1983, date à laquelle Dave Bickler doit se retirer suite à des problèmes de voix. Il fut alors remplacé par Jimi Jamison.

En 1988, le groupe se sépare. Il renait en 1992 sous l'impulsion de Frankie Sullivan. Il demande à rejoindre Jimi Jameson qui, avec d'autres musiciens, continue de tourner sous le nom de Survivor. Ils sont rejoints par Dave Bickler en 1993.

Jim Peterik quitte la formation en 1996.

Indochine est un groupe de rock français, issu du courant new wave, formé en 1981. Il a connu un succès relativement important au milieu des années 1980, en France mais aussi dans le reste de l'Europe, avec des titres comme L'aventurier ou Canary Bay.

Après un désintérêt manifeste des médias pour Indochine dans les années 1990, ceux-ci se réintéressent au groupe en 2002, à la sortie de l'album Paradize.

Mon cd préféré :

Paradize est le 9e album studio d'Indochine, sorti en 2002. Cet album est celui du renouveau de la carrière d'Indochine. Il s'est vendu à environ 1,5 millions d'exemplaires, ce qui fait renouer le groupe avec le succès après une période difficile durant les années 90.

Les morceaux de l'album ont un ton beaucoup plus rock que dans les précédents opus d'Indochine, grâce à Oli de Sat, nouveau guitariste/compositeur/arrangeur dans le groupe, on peut citer des influences telles que Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails ou Placebo.
En même temps, le producteur britannique Gareth Jones (producteur habituel de Depeche Mode et d'Erasure) injecta dans cet album une palette d'arrangements électro très pointus et contemporains, contribuant à remettre le groupe au goût du jour.

Nicolas Sirkis explore les mêmes thèmes pour l'écriture des morceaux qu'avant, le sexe (Punker, Marilyn, Paradize, Le Grand Secret), la religion (Like a Monster, Dark), le mal-être adolescent (Comateen I, Le Manoir, Mao Boy!) ou encore le décès de son frère jumeau Stéphane Sirkis (Electrastar).
